Abstract

Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is an independent business with capital and labor in a limited number. But MSMEs prove to survive amid the global crisis hit in 2008. This is because the goods produced are goods that are close to the needs of the community and MSMEs rely on local resources of labor and own capital that not only rely on capital loans from banks. Currently, MSMEs in Kediri Regency account for 98% of the total existing processing industries. However, overall the majority of the population in Kediri Regency is still the main profession as a farmer who still rely on climate. Up to 2015, the percentage of the population that plunged into the processing industry (micro, small, medium and large) as a whole is only 11.59%. The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze the state of unemployment and employment and the role of MSMEs in the economy in Kediri District. Data analysis technique used in this research is quantitative analysis technique. From the results of the study showed that the decline in the number of labor force and the increase in the number of unemployed does not significantly affect the growth of MSMEs simultaneously
